Opportunity Classes (OC)
Opportunity classes cater for intellectually gifted and high potential students who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic and social level. Students successfully placed will usually have to leave their current school to enrol in a school with an opportunity class for Years 5 and 6.
Each year the school has an intake of 30 Year 5 students. To qualify for this intake students must sit an external academic examination in Year 4 and be selected to attend the class.
The Opportunity Classes are integrated into the Stage 3 program and leadership structures.

Testing and assessment
Applications for opportunity class placement are considered on the results of the Opportunity Class Placement Test alone. Students who wish to be considered for opportunity class placement will sit the Opportunity Class Placement Test on Friday 1 August 2024.
How to apply
If you would like to have your child considered for Year 5 opportunity class entry in 2025, you need to apply between Thursday 4 April 2024 and Monday 20 May 2024. You will need to access the online application at: https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/selective-high-schools-and-opportunity-classes/year-5 . You must not use the child’s email address. Late applications are not usually accepted.
If you do not have internet access, you could apply at a public library. If you have a disability that prevents you from using a computer, you can contact the Team for assistance after Thursday 4 April 2024.
You must submit only ONE application for each student.

Option 1 | Complete the Order Form and email it to bhpsuniformshop@gmail.com. Your summer uniform pack will be ready for collection during TERM 4 on Tuesdays after 2.00pm from the Administration Office on the Western Campus up until Tuesday 10 December 2024.
The last day to purchase is 8.30am-9.30am Tuesday 10 December 2024 as the shop is closed for stocktake on Thursday 12 December 2024 and re-opens 2.30pm-3.30pm on Tuesday 4 February 2025.
Option 2 | If your child needs to try on or you are after Second Hand items, uniforms can be purchased directly from the Uniform Shop during TERM 4.
