Walking bus

Get on board the P&C BHPS Walking Bus! We are one of the few schools on the Northern Beaches to run this volunteer-led initiative.

Joining the Walking Bus is a fun and safe way to get to school and get a bit of exercise at the same time. All routes are escorted by our amazing Walking Bus drivers who carry a working with children check (WWCC) and wear hi-vis vests. Our routes have been risk assessed by the Northern Beaches Council Road Safety Team.

Routes operate four mornings a week and the 'Drivers' have an up-to-date list of all participants for each route. Parents join a Whatsapp Group run by that particular route Driver and are notified of any changes/departure times.

In order to join as a participant, we ask parents to download the participant consent form, which contains a code of conduct and some safety rules. You will then be added to the route's Whatsapp Group and informed of bus departure times and when your child has arrived at school safely. The form can be downloaded here and can be emailed to bhpswalkingbus@gmail.com

We welcome any new volunteer drivers, although we require an up-to-date WWCC (which is easy to get). Please download the volunteer form here and email back to bhpswalkingbus@gmail.com.
