Year 2 Swim scheme

The Department of Education Special Swimming Scheme is an intensive learn to swim program which develops water confidence and provides students with basic skills in water safety and survival.

The swimming scheme caters for all ability levels and we look forward to all Year 2 students participating.

Instruction will take place at Manly Swim Centre under the instruction of qualified teachers. The Scheme will continue daily for two weeks from Monday 14 October (first day of Term 4) to Friday 25 October. The total cost for the 10 day scheme is $95.00, consisting of $50.00 for transport and $45.00 for pool entry. There is no charge for instruction.

If your child has a season pass for entry into the Manly Swim Centre, the cost for the scheme will be $50.00. Students will need to bring their pass every day.

Group 1 (2D, 2E & Group A of 2L) will be leaving school at 11.45am (returning by 1.30pm) and Group 2 (2J, 2F & Group B of 2L) will depart school at 12.30pm (returning to school by 2.15pm).

Students should bring their costume, a towel, a hat and warm clothing (on a cool day) in a plastic bag. Please note, they will change into their swimmers before they depart school. It is recommended that students use adequate sun protection, e.g. SPF 30+ broad spectrum. Water-resistant sunscreen should be reapplied regularly. A T-shirt or rash shirt is also recommended. No jewellery please. The students will need 2 large zip up bags. One for their uniform and one holding the wet swimming gear. All items must be labelled as loss of clothing is an ongoing issue. Unfortunately there will be no time for showering.
